Original Acrylic Collage by Rakan Isbury

Item # RISBANG

Sold Unframed: approx. 41cm w X 50cm h

This collage is an exploration of communication and silence, where the interplay of fragmented imagery and bold color creates a dialogue between the seen and not heard. The central printed image—a woman poised with her hand gently resting on her arm, directly engaging the viewer with her gaze—serves as a meditative anchor. Her eyes, accentuated as the focal point, invite the audience to contemplate the layers of meaning beneath her silence. Wide, lateral brush strokes of purple traverse the printed image at key junctures—across the top, covering the mouth, and over the hand. These strokes suggest movement, acting as visual metaphors for the inability to communicate in the usual way. They also hint at the layers of narrative that lie beneath the surface of the portrait. Overall, the collage invites a reflective engagement with the transformative role of art as a form of communication for the silent. Each element—from the piercing gaze to the harmonious yet provocative interplay of colors and shapes—contributes to an immersive visual narrative that is both intimate and expansive.
